NEW - Jury duty scam warning:  don't be fooled -- refuse to be a victim!
The Kitsap County Sheriff's Office, together with the Office of the Kitsap County Clerk, are warning county residents about the reemergence here of a fraudulent scheme concerning threats being made for failure to appear for jury duty service. Follow the links for details.

NEW - Plan update for Kitsap's aging reviewed September 21
The Kitsap County Division of Aging and Long-Term Care is the designated Area Agency on Aging for Kitsap County. Last year, the 2016-2019 Area Plan was approved. The four-year plan identifies gaps in services, and defines demographic trends, challenges and opportunities. Each year following, the agency is required to provide an update to the budget for the upcoming calendar year.

Labor Day brings changes to solid and household hazardous waste facilities and service

Port of Kingston reviews economics, planning at Kingston meeting September 7
The Port of Kingston’s new executive director, Jim Pivarnik, is the featured speaker at the Kingston Citizens Advisory Council meeting, 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7 in the Village Green Community Center, 26159 Dulay Road NE, Kingston. He will give a brief overview on “Ports 101,” including a review of the purpose of the port, its mission, economic benefits, future projects and revising the master plan. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Applications are now being accepted to reserve informational tables at the Kingston Citizens Advisory Council annual Community Open House, scheduled for 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29 at the Village Green Community Center.

Citizens needed to serve on county advisory groups
Kitsap County residents have the opportunity to express their diverse viewpoints, participate in local government and provide review and input to the Board of County Commissioners by serving as representatives on county advisory groups. These volunteer groups of involved citizens provide Commissioners with a broad-based well of diversity, talent, knowledge and skills to tap into. Follow the link below for details.
